Bella

Hearing Jacob’s car driving away was our cue to get dressed and get to the hotel the party was in. Alice had already been and had set up everything and the staff at the hotel were more than happy to help with some things Alice claimed were “adamant”. Alice had invited around 100 people who were Renesmee’s friends, the Denali’s and people from around town, who I never really knew. I knew everyone would enjoy it, we’d spent almost half a million dollars on it.

I was wearing a blue dress, similar to the one I wore for prom, minus the cast. Alice, Rosalie and Esme looked amazing; they cared more for how they looked though. As I walked out of the bedroom, Edward came over and kissed me.
“You look beautiful,” he said, smiling. Tanya, Carmen, Eleazar and Kate were sitting on the sofa and they smiled at us when we came in.
“Bella!” Tanya smiled and came over to hug me.
“Are we ready to go?” Emmett asked, “It’s 6pm,” Edward nodded.

Me, Edward, Renée, Phil and Charlie were in Edward’s Volvo™ and Emmett, Rosalie, Esme, Carlisle, Alice and Jasper all squeezed into Emmett’s Jeep™ while the Denali’s went in their car.

As we got closer, I started to silently freak out, I hadn’t the people since I was human, and they were bound to notice I hadn’t aged. I let Edward read my mind.
“Bella love, that’s what we’re all thinking, you don’t need to worry, we made sure it’ll be dark in there, I doubt they’ll even properly see your face,” he reassured me quiet enough that Renée, Phil and Charlie couldn’t hear. This calmed me down, and I nestled my head in his neck as he. Driving into the car lot, I decided now would be the time to text Jacob, telling him it’s time for them to leave the restaurant. Edward had given him $250 to pay for the dinner, Jacob had no money seeing as he didn’t have a job. Renesmee could have easily paid for it, but it was her birthday, age wasn’t paying for anything.
Seeing all of the people I used to know walking into the hotel, my stomach flipped and I became glued to the car seat, I couldn’t do this.
“Bella, come honey, I promise it will be fine,” Edward said calmly, holding out his hand to help me out of the car.
Holding hands, we walked up the marble steps and into the foyer, where a man handed us a party bag; one of Alice’s ingenious ideas.

The main hall looked amazing, the walls were covered in white fairy lights and there were purple disco lights facing the dance floor, where a DJ was playing. There was a buffet table covered in a purple cloth covered in food I definitely would have gone straight to if I was still human. There was a purple punch and Renesmee’s birthday cake was 3 tiered and had white icing and purple ribbon wrapped around the bottom of each. I disliked spoiling her, this party was Alice’s idea, and she did like to give Renesmee anything she wanted, no matter how expensive. I insisted on having a quiet party with only close friends and relatives, but you can never win with Alice as your opponent, once she got an idea, she stuck to it.

I grabbed Edward’s hand tighter as the guests came over to talk to me and I worked hard to use my rough voice. I hadn’t seen Angela and Ben yet, which was good news.

At 7:20pm, Alice gave me the nod, they’d arrived. I zoned my hearing outside.
“Jake, what are we doing here?” Renesmee asked.
“You’ll find out,” Jacob replied.

“Everybody! They’re here! Places!” Alice shouted as the lights turned off so that the room was dark enough that humans wouldn’t have been to see anything at all.
“Jacob! Where are we going?” I heard Renesmee laugh as they walked through the door. The fairy lights and disco lights switched on and everyone shouted surprise, followed by Renesmee’s squeal of excitement.
